Supporting your child’s learning with tailored digital resources

Access inclusive, easy-to-use digital learning materials designed to support your child’s growth, tailored to their unique needs and abilities.

Who are these resources for?

The Atollo project’s digital learning materials are designed to support children in the first four years of primary education, with a special focus on mathematical and digital competencies. These resources help children with moderate to profound learning difficulties, ensuring they receive the right level of support to develop essential skills.

Our structured learning approach is based on international research and curriculum analysis across partner countries, identifying math and digital literacy as key areas of overlap in education systems.

Understanding different learning needs

Children learn in different ways, and our materials are designed to support a wide range of abilities:

A core module of Atollo
  • Level 1: profound and multiple learning difficulties (PMLD): For children who need fully adapted learning experiences, focusing on sensory engagement and fundamental skills.
  • Level 2: severe learning difficulties (SLD): Designed for learners who require structured, step-by-step guidance with strong visual and interactive elements.
  • Level 3: specific learning difficulties (SpLD): Supports children with dyslexia, dyscalculia, and processing difficulties, helping them build confidence through scaffolded tasks.
  • Level 4: moderate learning difficulties (MLD): For students who need adapted learning strategies but can engage with more structured educational content.

By understanding these levels, you can find the right starting point for their child and access materials suited to their learning journey.

How the learning materials are structured

A modular, level-based approach

Each learning module — such as numbers and counting, digital literacy, and problem-solving — is available at all four levels. This means your child can progress at their own pace, moving between levels as their skills develop.

  • Maths and digital learning are integrated to build real-world skills.
  • Accessible across six languages to support diverse learning communities.
  • Universal design for learning (UDL) principles ensure inclusivity, including features for students with visual, auditory, and motor impairments.

A dedicated space for parents and teachers

Guidance and support at your fingertips

We know that parents play a vital role in their child’s learning journey. That’s why our parents’ corner provides:

  • Practical guides on how to use the materials at home.
  • Step-by-step instructions to help parents adapt the content for different learning styles
  • Tips on supporting children with special educational needs in a home setting.

Alongside this, the Teachers’ Corner offers additional materials to support classroom learning, ensuring a seamless connection between school and home.

How to navigate the resources

Finding the right materials is simple:

  • Choose your child’s learning level: Start with the most appropriate stage based on their needs.
  • Select a language: Our resources are available in English, Bulgarian, Croatian, German, Icelandic, and Norwegian.
  • Explore the bookshelf: Each language has its own dedicated resource library, making it easy to access the right materials.

Your questions answered

Frequently asked questions (FAQ)

The main purpose of the Atollo IZZI platform is to support students who have difficulties in learning, helping them reach their learning objectives and make progress. It is designed to provide engaging, interactive resources and activities that facilitate understanding and mastery of key mathematical concepts and develop digital skills.

The educational content on the platform targets learners who learn at lower primary levels. In typical settings, these students would be aged 5-10 years old. However, the educational content can also be used by chronologically older students who have intellectual disabilities, when suitable. The platform can be used by teachers in the classroom, as well as by students at home with adult assistance. The platform is also suitable for both individual use and collaborative learning settings, depending on each student's age and abilities.

The Atollo IZZI platform offers a variety of interactive tools and resources to enhance learning in mathematics and ICT. Mathematical content is available at four different levels of complexity to support a wider range of learners. These include educational games, quizzes, animation videos, visual aids, and practical activities that help make abstract concepts more concrete. The activities are designed to engage students, providing real- life examples that facilitate understanding and retention.

Whether students can use the platform independently depends on their individual abilities and learning difficulties. While the platform is designed to be user-friendly and engaging, children who face more significant learning challenges may require support from parents/guardians, teachers or learning support staff. For students who can manage tasks on their own, the platform offers an opportunity for independent learning, allowing them to explore activities and resources at their own pace. However, for those who need more guidance, the platform should be used alongside adult supervision to ensure they get the most out of the experience.

Yes, the resources are free and available without restrictions in order to provide teachers and educators with activities to support various types of learners to reach their mathematical and digital learning outcomes. The resources were created as part of the Atollo Project, co-financed by the European Union. Registration and sign-up are not needed.

Registration or sign-up is not required. You have unrestricted access to all activities and resources in 6 languages. If a pop-up window appears asking you to create an account or enter a code, simply click the 'X' to dismiss it and continue your learning journey.
